Igor Cornelsen is a native of Curtibia, Brazil. He was born October 4, 1947. He began college at the Federal University in Parana, in 1965. His original major was engineering. However, he changed his major to economics two years later. After graduation in 1970, he accepted a position at an investment bank. Having studied engineering for two years, he was considered an asset to the bank. As this was before computers, his math skills proved very valuable.
Proving to be a success in this field, he ended up in Rio, working as an investment banker. His investment skills earned him a position on the board of directors of Multibanco in 1974. Two years later he was appointed as CEO. When the bank was acquired by others, he resigned and became employed by Unibanco. Later he joined a London Merchant Bank. He became a member of the bank’s board of directors for the Brazilian branch until 1995. He then formed his own investment firm.
Igor Cornelsen developed his own strategy for investing. He would research global economic trends to determine which countries were showing an upward growth or declining. Based on his research, he would either buy or sell stocks from those countries. He would not only study economic conditions from around the world, he would consider other factors relevant to his investment decisions. Before making any investment decisions, he would research a country’s governmental stability, political and financial conditions. He determined Reuters news was unbiased and the most trustworthy for doing his research.
Igor Cornelsen advises people to begin investing earlier in life rather than later. He stresses the importance of working with a knowledgeable professional financial advisor. Another key factor is for investors to diversify their investment options. There are stocks, ETFs, bonds, mutual funds and other choices. He has earned the respect of multi-national corporations and individuals alike.
